With the changing times and new technology, the Department of Leisure Services strives to do everything possible to be at the forefront of expanding into new and inventive programs. Today, we provide a broad range of youth and adult sports programming. We currently offer flag football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, baseball, golf, tennis and swimming to our youth with hopes for new programming in the near future. The City of Andalusia will continue to meet the needs of its citizens by generating new and exciting programs for the people of Andalusia and the surrounding areas.

Youth Sports

Our Mission:

To expand recreational athletic activities for youth throughout our community.

Our Purpose:

To promote interest and participation in the various individual and team sports in which are offered.
To promote the development of physical activities and encourage the standardization of rules dealing with all amateur, games, and competitions.
To give the youth in our community every opportunity we can through leisure activities.

Fees

Effective January 1, 2027, registration fees for youth sports will be $45 per person. There is a $15 multi-child discount, and scholarships are available for those in financial neeed. Click here to read scholarship guidelines. Clich here to download a scholarship application.

Effective January 1, 2027, Adult League fees are $250 per team.

Practice field lighting renting fees are $50.

Sports | Online Registration

Basketball

Registration is set for Oct. 12-23, with skills assessment on Oct. 27, and opening day on Jan. 2, 2027.

Ages: 5-12 years old (age determination date is September 1st of 2026)

Registration Fee: $35 for one child

$55 for two children

$75 for three or more children

(Bring a copy of your child's Birth Certificate at Johnson Park from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM.)

Scholarships are available upon request but are based on financial need. All scholarship applications will be reviewed by the Andalusia Rec Board. This program is open to ALL children in Covington County.

Baseball

Registration is open through Jan.11-29, 2027.

The age cut of date to determine if your child is eligible is as follows:

Babe Ruth Baseball- May 1, 2027 (Determined by Babe Ruth Baseball)

Registration Fee:

1 child - $35.00

2 children - $55.00

3 or more living in the same household - $75.00

(If there is not a copy of your child's birth certificate on file, you will need to bring a copy to Johnson Park from 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM.

Softball

Registration is open through Jan. 31, 2024.

Ages: 4-15 years old

Swim League

Registration will be held March 23 - May 10, 2027.

Ages: 5-18 years old

Registration Fee:

1 child - $35.00

2 children - $55.00

3 or more living in the same household - $75.00

Be sure to bring sweats and a towel as the water will be cool. Swim Team Try-outs will be May 16, 2027, at Cooper Pool.

Tennis

Registration is open May 1 through June 2, 2027. Starting June 34d, registration can be done at LBW tennis courts.

Ages: 5-18 years old

Registration Fee:

$30 for one participant; $50 for two participants; $65 for three or more.

Sessions are 2 weeks, Monday-Friday

Only ages 6-12 may participate.

2 Sessions per Summer-Can do one or two sessions

Registration for each session is separate! Sign-ups are during business hours (8 a.m. until 5 p.m) at Johnson Park through June 6, 2025.

Registration Fee: $30.00 per session

Session 1 will be June 1-12, 2027, at 8, 9 and 10 a.m.

Session 2 will be June 15th - June 26th, at 8, 9 and 10 a.m.

Flag Football

Ages: 7-12 years old

(Age Determination Date: August 1, 2026)

Registration will be May 1-15, 2027, with skills assessment on May 18, and opening day on June 19, 2027.
